Top 20 Prospects Overall (11-20)
20) Brandon Boggs -- CF
The Good: Complete player with the ability to provide plus defense anywhere in the outfield. Great baseball instincts. Draws a lot of walks, goes deep in counts and hits with good power.
The Bad: Strikes out too much; has not stayed healthy. The switch hitter is far more potent against lefties.
See him: In Oklahoma City. He'll be a Ranger in September at the latest.

19) Thomas Diamond -- SP (RP?)
The Good: True power pitcher who racks up K's but the bushel. Intensity and competitiveness can be a plus, but wanes from time to time.
The Bad: Coming off of Tommy John surgery; still lacks the level of command he should have by now. Breaking ball is spotty.
See Him: Probably in the Frisco bullpen in June; perhaps in Arlington's bullpen by the end of the year.

18) Johnny Whittleman -- 3b
The Good: Hustle, leadership, plate discipline with some power, and the sweetest lefty swing in the organization.
The Bad: Struggles against lefties; is streaky; still figuring out the hot corner defensively.
See Him: In Bakersfield, probably all year long, but could see Frisco in August.

17) Julio Borbon -- CF
The Good: Olympic sprinter speed; intelligence and some pop in the bat.
The Bad: Undisciplined approach; marginal arm for CF in Arlington.
See Him: Already on a major league contract, he could start his career in Bakersfield.

16) Wilmer Font -- SP
The Good: Power. Baseball America compiled a list of every pitcher who hit 98 mph or above on the radar last summer. Font was the only 17 year old to do so.
The Bad: He's got a long ways to go before he creates a W in Arlington; secondary pitches need a lot of work.
See Him: Setting forest fires against hitters four to five years older than himself in the Pacific Northwest come June.

15) Fabio Castillo -- SP
The Good: At 18, the big strong Castillo deals a 96 mph fastball with what an AL scout tells Baseball America is "plus-plus late life." Already deals a hard, biting slider at 86 mph.
The Bad: Still unrefined and needs to learn how to change speeds and locate. He tends to fly open and has trouble repeating his delivery.
See Him: Probably a return trip to the NWL.

14) Matt Harrison -- SP
The Good: Mr. Real Estate (location, location, location). Command lefty who should fit The Ballpark nicely. Pounds the zone low and away in the classic lefty (e.g. Tom Glavine, Kenny Rogers) fashion.
The Bad: Low K rates give him relatively small margin for error.
See Him: OKC rotation. Will find himself in the Rangers rotation by June, August at the latest.

13) Max Ramirez -- C
The Good: Hitting machine. And.... Did I mention he can hit?
The Bad: Defensive limitations may push him out from behind the plate.
See Him: Frisco.

12) Neil Ramirez -- SP
The Good: Plus curve and explosive mid-90's cheese.
The Bad: Inconsistency. Needs to develop a change.
See Him: Northwest League.

11) German Duran -- 2b
The Good: Short path to the ball, quick hands, and good power. Versatile: Can provide acceptable defense at 2b, 3b or short.
The Bad: Not much. Still concerned about low walk rates.
See Him: All around the OKC infield. Arlington no later than September.
